Hummel Architects announces the restructuring of their executive team. This new configuration will advance the firm into the future and build upon the firm’s foundation of success. This team has already proved to be instrumental in the firm’s overall success through project management, design, and overall leadership.  Scott Straubhar, AIA, NCARB and Ed Daniels, AIA, NCARB have been appointed Partners. Mandy Boam, NCIDQ, AIA, and Zacharia Lester, AIA, NCARB have been promoted to Principals. Brian Coleman, AIA, NCARB, Brian Riopelle, AIA, NCARB, and Rob Beusan, AIA, NCARB have been promoted to Senior Associates. Gwen Andrews, Director of Finance and Administration, has been promoted to Associate. In these new roles, they will have the opportunity to expand their leadership knowledge and responsibilities related to corporate leadership.

Scott Straubhar, AIA, NCARB is a licensed Architect in Idaho, and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He earned a Bachelor in Architecture from the University of Idaho. Scott began working for Hummel Architects in 1986 and became a Principal in 1993. Since then, he has developed extensive experience in a variety of project types through higher education and K-12 buildings, federal, and municipal facilities, and most recently, healthcare projects for the St. Luke’s Health System. In addition to business development and firm leadership, Scott’s primary focus with the firm is the oversight of planning, programming, and design of our new and existing clients’ projects.

Ed Daniels, AIA, NCARB joined Hummel Architects in 1999 and became a Principal in 2006, is a licensed Architect in Idaho, and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Idaho. Ed focuses on research and teaching laboratories with Higher Education, K-12, and Private Clients. He continues to lead the firm with business development focusing on quality architecture for existing and new clients. Recent projects include multiple projects for Idaho State University, Boise State University, and West Ada School District.

Mandy Boam, NCIDQ, AIA, joined Hummel Architects in 2005, is a licensed Interior Designer and Architect in Idaho, and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture with Architecture Minor from the University of Idaho. She specializes in commercial and institutional design for a variety of public sector projects where her services included community outreach, planning, programming, space planning, adaptive reuse, interior finishes, furniture, and artwork. Recent projects include multiple projects for St. Luke’s Health System, Idaho State University, and Boise State University.

Zacharia Lester, AIA, NCARB joined Hummel Architects in 2017, is a licensed Architect in Idaho, and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He earned a Bachelor of Architecture with Art Minor from the University of Idaho. He specializes in planning and programming Healthcare and Laboratory spaces. Zach’s approach to the design process is to foster and facilitate team collaborations to find more creative solutions of higher quality and greater value for the client. Recent projects include multiple projects for St. Luke’s Health System including the Center for Orthopedic Sports Medicine and the McCall Hospital Expansion.

Brian Coleman, AIA, NCARB joined Hummel Architects in 2014, is a licensed Architect in Idaho, and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He earned a Masters in Architecture from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Business Management from Boise State University. He specializes in providing leadership and project management for public sector projects and adaptive reuse projects. Recent projects include the new Fire Station No. 5 in downtown Boise and Idaho Fine Arts Academy in Meridian.

Brian Riopelle, AIA, NCARB joined Hummel Architects in 2016, is a licensed Architect in Idaho, Oregon, Vermont, and Iowa.  He earned his Master of Architecture degree from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. Brian specializes in providing dynamic leadership and exceptional project management for our public and private institutional clients in Healthcare and Higher Education. Recent projects include multiple projects for the Idaho Division of Public Works, Idaho State University, and Boise State University.

Rob Beusan, AIA, NCARB joined Hummel Architects in 2013, is a licensed Architect in Idaho, and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He earned a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science Architecture from the University of Idaho. Rob leads Hummel’s design studio, overseeing the design and conceptualization of our client’s projects. His design team recently completed concepts and animations for the CWI Boise Campus at 27th & Main which were used to promote the project.

Gwen Andrews, Director of Finance and Administration joined Hummel Architects in 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a Human Resource Certificate from the University of Phoenix. Gwen leads day-to-day financial management and assists ownership in strategic planning. She manages an administrative team who work on every project that goes through the firm.
