Timothy Regan Residence
Today’s #TBT is a good opportunity to look at the detailed architectural plans hand-drawn in 1905 for the Timothy Regan Residence located at 110 Main Street in downtown Boise. The detail on the construction of the distinctive columns is particularly illuminating. (If the plans look a little tattered, keep in mind they are 117 years old)
“This Georgian revival dwelling was built for Timothy Regan, an early-day mining baron. The home is finished inside with a variety of hardwoods. The architect designed the home to be heated with hot water since Mr. Regan was an organizer of the Boise Artesian Hot and Cold Water Company. The house has been recently renovated.”
(Quoted from Nine Walking Tours of Boise by Vicki Sharples Johnson and Patricia Stalcup Mickelson, 1979)
Since that publication, the building was used as a fraternity house, and residences, and has been renovated in the past five years for use as offices.
