Treasure Valley Community College Nursing-Allied Health Professions Center
Working with Treasure Valley Community College (TVCC), Hummel provided conceptual design for a new Nursing-Allied Health Professions Center, including full design and engineering services as part of the process. Hummel’s design features a concrete foundation framed with steel structuring, a combined metal and brick exterior, interior finishes, and brand new state-of-the-art nursing equipment.
The TVCC Nursing Center design encompasses approximately 30,733 square feet on a 69,000 square foot lot located on the Ontario, Oregon campus.
In designing a space specifically for Health Sciences, Hummel worked with stakeholders during programming to meet the specific needs of the building occupants. For instance, to support the Emergency Medical Technician program, a classroom was designed to accommodate an ambulance to be driven directly into the learning space for hands-on learning. Active learning spaces are included throughout the building to encourage collaborative learning between students and faculty.
The design for Treasure Valley Community College’s new facility will allow it to expand healthcare programs, foster a more dynamic educational environment, and promote hands-on healthcare learning opportunities through simulation labs and advanced medical equipment.
