The scope of this project focused on two main goals. One was to alleviate the scheduling conflicts that arise from the current spaces that serves as the gymnasium, assembly space, and cafeteria. Second was to address the current kitchen facility which does not have the capability or capacity to be a full cooking kitchen, requiring the school district to bring in much of the food.
To address these concerns, Hillcrest is to receive a new kitchen and cafeteria to provide a full-service kitchen and lunch space that will not conflict with other scheduled activities. In addition, Hillcrest is to convert their existing kitchen into an additional classroom to further alleviate scheduling conflicts. Situated just outside the existing school, the new kitchen and cafeteria are the anchor point for the master plan for a future facility to replace the existing school.
