Hummel Architects was selected by the Twin Falls School District to design a new high school for their growing community. As the second high school in Twin Falls, this facility was designed for 1200 students, with a core for 1500 students to accommodate anticipated growth. The high school houses a media center, 2400-seat gymnasium, 350-seat auditorium, classrooms, science labs, and several “magnet” programs for the entire district, which includes a business academy, pre-engineering academy, and an agriculture science academy. The new high school opened Fall 2009.
The two-story addition at Canyon Ridge High School added a total of 26,246 sq ft which included a total of 19 classrooms, 15 general classrooms, 2 biology labs, and 2 earth science labs. The addition was added at the end of an existing wing and was designed to seamlessly blend with the existing school.
