Hummel Architects has an immediate opening for a Senior Architect.

The candidate would fill the role of Technical Expert for multiple large-scale projects.  The position focuses on firm-wide quality control, technical detail production and code integration. A specialization in commercial buildings is desired, along with a desire to mentor and pass this expertise along to junior staff. 

Our firm specializes in Healthcare, Education and Government facility design in the Northwest. Required Skills / Responsibilities:

  • 15+ years of Project Management / Project Architect experience
  • Licensed Architect
  • Act as technical expert regarding specialized designs.
  • Ensure quality design process firm-wide
  • Perform QA / QC and technical reviews
  • Creates, checks and coordinates details.
  • Incorporates applicable codes, construction techniques and sequences in various projects including all aspects of cross disciplines.
  • Advanced knowledge of project process from programming through CA
  • Ability to interact with senior management as well as lead junior staff
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain schedules
  • Strong time management and attention to detail

We are seeking an experienced Mid-level Interior Designer. This person will work closely with Hummel’s architects to lend design expertise to every project phase from programming and space planning to millwork and ceiling design, finish selection, furniture selection, and drawing production.

Our firm specializes in Healthcare, Education, and Government facility design in the Northwest. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in an Interior Design or Architecture Firm
  • Graduate of a recognized Interior Design school program with a professional degree
  • Technically proficient in Revit; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Knowledge of codes and construction techniques

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of interior design concepts, space planning, and design presentations.
  • Develop finish palettes, material selections, furniture, fixtures and Equipment specifications.
  • Ability to manage work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Interface with clients through planning, design, and construction.
  • Works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Self-starter/Independent worker.

Hummel Architects is hiring an Architectural Designer 1.

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Architectural Designer I to join our team. This position is ideal for a design professional with a NAAB-accredited professional architecture degree who is passionate about thoughtful design, technical rigor, and continued professional growth.

While a minimum of two years of experience in an architectural firm is preferred, we are open to exceptional candidates who demonstrate strong potential, initiative, and alignment with our culture, even if they have less experience.

About the Role

As an Architectural Designer, you will contribute to projects across all phases of design and construction. Working under the guidance of licensed architects, you will gain meaningful hands-on experience while progressing toward architectural licensure.   • Support project teams through schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Develop drawings, models, and presentation materials
  • Coordinate with consultants and internal team members
  • Assist with technical detailing, specifications, and code research
  • Participate in client meetings and internal design reviews
  • Contribute to maintaining project schedules and quality standards

 

Qualifications: 

  • Professional architecture degree from a NAAB-accredited program
  • Two years of experience in an architectural firm preferred, but not required for the right candidate
  • Actively pursuing architectural licensure
  • Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with other design and visualization tools
  • Strong design sensibility and technical aptitude
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
